Made for Mermaids – Baby Willow
Introducing the new Baby Willow from Made for Mermaids! (Currently on sale through Monday!) This pattern is so stinking cute and I already have a handful more of these planned for my little munchkin! The romper version is perfect for my wiggly one year old in the hot Arizona summer. The pull-on style actually isn’t too much of a pain to get on and off (I typically hate pull-on type rompers but this one I really like, especially now that Brooklyn is bigger). It’s also a pretty quick sew, which is always a plus! I ended up making one last minute the night before my daughter’s one year photo shoot and I didn’t even stay up all night! Winning!
There are a handful different options to choose from; pants romper, shorts romper, crop, top, dress and the option for a waist tie. The shorts romper is definitely my favorite, but I think I’ll need to make a few of the other versions as well!
This pattern is a relaxed and flowy fit. For my tiny 1yo, I sewed up the 0-3m width and lengthened it to 6-9m per her measurements. I used the 3-6m leg bands and the 6-9m arm binding. However, I felt like the 6-9m arm bands were a tad too long for my little munchkin, so the white Willow I made for her 1yo photo shoot had the 3-6m arm binding. So freaking cute!
Fabric
I am obsessed with Mily Mae Fabric Shop lately. She does a stocking every Tuesday evening and it seriously kills me! The black floral fabric is Triss Brushed Rib Knit. I obviously had to buy some because it’s basically calling my name. (I’m still debating if i need the other colorway!) The white fabric is Lush White Rib Knit and it is oh so nice!
