Sew A Little Seam – Children’s Movie Night Pajamas

The Children’s Movie Night Pajamas from Sew A Little Seam have been my go to PJs ever since Max has been able to fit on the size chart (he’s a pretty little dude). I have made so many pairs, I can’t even keep track! There really isn’t any reason why you would need another pajama pattern. And what’s even better is they are free! You just need to be a member of the Sew A Little Seam Facebook Group and you can find the coupon code in the announcement post.

Another great thing about sewing for kids in general is that they require hardly any fabric! Lately, when I make Max some pajamas, I’ve been making both pants and shorts, and both long and short sleeve shirts out of one yard of fabric. That way we can do a little mixing and matching. I also tend to sew a size up. This ensures that we will get loads of wear out of them.

This is such a good pattern to start with if you are new to knits or new to sewing in general. And better yet, there will be a sew along soon! (link at the end!)

The children’s version of the Movie Night PJs goes from 12m-12y and it has options for a regular crew neck or with a placket, gathered sleeves or no gathers, short or cuffed long sleeves, pants, capris or shorts and a yoga or elastic waistband.

Here are some of the Movie Night Pajamas I have made for my son (that I was able to find a picture of).

It’s funny, Max still fit’s in the white and blue striped jammies! I made those a 1.5 years ago! The Dinos and ghosts are doodle fabric and though they technically still fit, the shirt is just a bit short. They looked silly so I had to retire them! He also still fits in the Christmas PJs I made last year. Now I have 2 more sets of PJs cut out for him. Long Sleeves/Pants and Short Sleeves/Shorts. I love doing both of these combinations in the same fabric. My current favorite place to get fabric for Movie Night Pajamas is Raspberry Creek Fabrics. Their Club line is perfect for pajamas!
