Joggerathon – Greenstyle Creations – Brassie Joggers

Another day, another pair of Joggers! Can you believe it? This is jogger number 9, which means we are already a third of the way through. Whew! Next up for the regular fit joggers is the Brassie Joggers from Greenstyle Creations. There are 3 different rises (low, mid, high) and each of them have there own separate file to download. There are 4 different leg lengths, and 2 pocket options. The Brassies were updated in (I think) 2019, so if you have the pattern and haven’t downloaded the new file, do it! The fit is so much better!

I used the Light Grey/Sage Cactus on Oatmeal French Terry from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. (The oatmeal FT base is one of my favorites!). This is a medium weight, 95/5 cotton spandex blend that is 10-11 oz. It has approximately 50% 4-way stretch. I used the Deep Sage solid FT for the bands.

Recommended Fabric: 25% 4-way stretch knit fabric

Instructions

Were the instructions easy to follow?

The instructions are great. There are illustrations instead of real life photos but I didn’t have any issues with that.

Pattern

DID IT LOOK LIKE THE PATTERN PHOTO/DRAWING ON THE PATTERN ONCE YOU WERE DONE SEWING?

Yes it did!

WHAT DID YOU PARTICULARLY LIKE OR DISLIKE ABOUT THE PATTERN?

  • These are a fairly quick sew and a great casual pair of joggers. They aren’t too tight or overly loose.
  • I love that the pocket has a little triangle piece that makes hemming/top stitching a lot cleaner.
  • I skipped grommets on this pair but the placement for grommets is super high (close to the top fold on the waistband) which I don’t particularly like. I prefer my drawstring to be in the center of the waistband.
  • I probably could have shortened these a tad more than the 1″ that I did. Greenstyle patterns are drafted for 5’7 and I’m 5’4. (The typical rule of thumb for length/shortening is 1/2″ for every inch above or below the drafted height).
  • The pockets are deep, which isn’t necessarily bad but I like to make them a little bit shorter, by about 1/2″.

WOULD YOU SEW IT AGAIN? WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS?

The Brassies are a great regular fit joggers. I have a few different pairs of Brassies and I like all of them! I most likely will sew them again and I would recommend these.

Have you sewn up the Brassies? What are your thoughts? I’d love to know in the comments below! If you missed the Skye Joggers from Blank Slate yesterday, you can check that out by clicking HERE. Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Valparaiso’s from Little Lizard King!

Cheers!

I made these twice, and wouldn’t make them again. The first one I made in my measured size and they were huge. I wore them to walmart and the whole entire time they were slipping down. I dozed down to xxs (smallest size at the time) and they fit perfectly.

When did you make them? The Brassies were updated I believe in 2019 and before the update I HATED them! They were huge and I too had to take them in a ton but since the pattern was updated, they are so much better and fit great. If you are using an old file from before 2019, definitely re-download so you are using the newest files.
