Joggerathon – Sew All The Joggers

Hello, hello! I am SO excited for what I have planned for you next month in September. I have been working really hard on this project and it’s a big one! Throughout the month of September, I will be sharing 27 different pairs of joggers! I’ve split them into 3 categories based on fit: Slim, Regular and Relaxed. Each day of the month I will be highlighting a different jogger pattern, sharing my thoughts, including the nitty gritty.  I’ll also be sharing side by side fit comparisons of each of the joggers from each category. On the 7th day, I’ll compare the previous 6 pairs. These comparison post will mainly be showcasing the differences in the fit and pattern specific information (options, inseams, sizes, etc.). I’ll try to keep my opinions to just the individual posts!

After all the PDF pattern reviews and comparisons, I’ll also be sharing the 3 different fits from the Apostrophe MyFit Jogger pattern! I’m keeping this one separate since it’s based on your specific measurements. There are 3 different fits, so I’ll be sharing all of them, in the same fabric, using my same measurements!

On the last day of September I’ll do a round up of all the joggers with my top favorites.

*All of the links below are pre-linked and you’ll be able to access each one after the post goes live.

Line-up

Why am I sewing a million joggers??

There are SO many patterns and designers out there. Listing photos can be very deceiving and often look very different on each person who sewed specific pattern (which drives me nuts since it makes it hard to determine what the fit is!). I’ve even been in pattern tests where sewists have specifically asked if they could size up or down for final photos and the designer said yes! Like, what?! That is not helpful!

To keep the comparisons as accurate and consistent as possible, I’ll be sewing the cuffed ankle version for each of the different pair of joggers. The only modifications I’ll be making are grading per my measurements and occasionally for height, when necessary. Hopefully this will help give you an idea of how each of the different joggers fit on the same frame.

Each of the different jogger pattern’s have different fabric stretch requirements, so I’m not using the exact same fabric base for every one of them. Just something to keep in mind. However, each *week* I’ll be highlighting a different fabric company! You’ll be seeing fabric from The Fabric Snob, Olga’s Closet, Raspberry Creek Fabric and Mily Mae Fabrics. A BIG shout out to them for helping make this happen!

*The week will run from Wednesday-Tuesday since Sept 1 is on a Wednesday!*

I’ll be using the hashtag #joggerathon and #sewallthejoggers on social media (mainly IG if I’m being completely honest) if you’d like to follow along! And don’t forget to subscribe if you want to be notified via email when each post is live! If you are showing up a little late, welcome! Feel free to poke around!

I’d love to know your current favorite jogger pattern and which one’s you are most looking forward to seeing! Share your thoughts in the comments below!

I also made a little poll. Who knows how well it will work, but I’d love for you to test it out and vote for your favorite! <3

Happy sewing!

I don’t have a jogger pant pattern that I like. The only one I made to my measurements didn’t fit properly so I’m going to use your posts to find a better pattern. I prefer sweat pants for the fall and winter without cuffs and I think I’d like either the relax fit or maybe a regular fit?

I have never been able to make a pair of leggings or joggers that actually fit me. I had actually given up on ever getting any to fit me and have concentrating on tops for the last year. I sincerely hope I can learn something from these videos!

How did you know I have been looking for a good jogger pattern? I have struck the same issue you describe – no idea how they will fit based on the tester photos. This is a massive undertaking but a big thank you for doing it.

Oh my gosh I am SO excited for this. I have been wanting to sew up some joggers but there are soo many patterns to choose from I was afraid of picking one and not loving the fit! I can’t wait to see all your comparisons!!
