Joggerathon – Regular Fit Comparison (Part 2)

Hello, hello! Welcome to the third round of comparisons (part 2 reg fit)! The jogger patterns I am comparing in this post are all listed as regular fit (not completely relaxed and not slim) based on the patterns or listing description. If you would like to read the (more detailed) individual pattern reviews for any of the patterns in this post, you can find each one of them linked below. If you would like to go back and see any of the previous posts on the Joggerathon, click HERE or to see the pattern line-up, click HERE

** Quick note, the Jammin Joggers were a redo, which is why I’m in a different top. You can read more about that in their link below 😉

Fabric

Most of the fabric is from Mily Mae Fabrics! The fabric for the Chelsea Joggers are from So Sew English and the Jammin Joggers are from Rockerbye Destash (since both companies sell fabric AND patterns).

Below is a breakdown of pertinent information for each pattern and how they compare to each other. The side-by-side fit comparisons follow and are conveniently numbered for easy reference. ** You can click on each image below to view it larger.** My brief thoughts are at the end of this post. If you want a more detailed review, use the links above to view the individual posts.

Overall Thoughts

This round was a little depressing for me since there were so many disappointments! Hopefully it was helpful for you nonetheless! My favorite pair out of the bunch is still going to be the Hudson Pants from True Bias. These are a great classic jogger fit. They just need the crotch scooped out a bit!

Peekaboo Patterns – Java Joggers

These were a SUPER tight fit. Definitely not my definition of semi fitted. The pockets are also pretty narrow.

Rockerbyedestash – Jammin Joggers

These are a unisex pattern so there is a little extra room in the crotch for me. Not a bad fit other than that.

Sew Like My Mom – Redwood Joggers

I mainly have some excess fabric in the back of the legs. Not really sure the best way to go about it. I’m sure the shorts option would be super cute though!

Sinclair – JJ Joggers

Hate the waistband, too long and they are so much looser than all the listing photos but the pockets are deep!

So Sew English – Chelsea Pants

The slant pocket opening is SO big! Some of the instructions are weird but the fit isn’t terrible other than the pocket.

True Bias – Hudson Pants

The Hudson’s were probably my first joggers and I still love them! I just hate that the pattern file doesn’t have layers. Worst thing ever when using a projector for sewing.

Do you have a favorite pair out of the joggers from this past week? I’d love to know in the comments below! Stay tuned! The last 6 pair of joggers are the Track Pants from Brindille and Twig, Plateau Pants from Closet Core, Lounge Pants from Hallå, Mama Bear Joggers from Patterns for Pirates, Couch Potato Joggers from Rad Patterns and the Arcadia Joggers from Stitch Upon A Time.

Happy sewing!

Thanks so much for doing this! I really appreciate having everything spelled out and compared. Especially the comparison photos! It’s funny, though, some of the things that you mentioned you don’t like might be things that interest me, likely because we have different body types. Out of these rounds so far, I’ve pinned a few patterns that interest me and I’m just waiting for a sale! I also really like finding out about pattern companies I’ve never heard of!
I would love more comparisons in future…like, a basic tee? Or some kind of sweater??

That’s what is so fun about comparisons. The side by sides are great for visuals and then people can either take it or leave it in regards to my opinions because you are right, what I don’t like, someone else may like!

I definitely want to do more comparisons. The hardest part is sourcing the fabric and patterns. I’m not sure I will always be able to get discounts on either of them and when you add it all up, just the supplies alone can get pretty pricey!
