Joggerathon – Relaxed Fit Comparison

Hello and welcome to the fouth round of comparisons! The jogger patterns I am comparing in this post are all listed as relaxed fit (not completely relaxed and not slim) based on the patterns or listing description. If you would like to read the (more detailed) individual pattern reviews for any of the patterns in this post, you can find each one of them linked below.

Fabric

All the fabric from this round of joggers is from Olga’s Closet! They have all sorts of different fabrics to choose from and a lot that are perfect for fall!

Below is a breakdown of pertinent information for each pattern and how they compare to each other. The side-by-side fit comparisons follow and are conveniently numbered for easy reference. ** You can click on each image below to view it larger.** My brief thoughts are at the end of this post. If you want a more detailed review, use the links above to view the individual posts.

Overall Thoughts

Relaxed fitting joggers are really not my go to. I always prefer the slim fits. Out of these six, my favorite is probably the Mama Bear Joggers, but at the same time they don’t really count because I feel like these should have been in the regular fit category instead (whoops!). Taking that out of the mix, Closet Core – Plateau and Rad Patterns – Couch Potato Joggers are probably my favorite (except I still don’t like the side seam pocket on the Couch Potato’s).

Brindille & Twig – Track Pants

These are not size inclusive at all. The way the pattern is laid out on the file makes it pretty difficult to do any kind of grading. I do like how the fit turned out and I LOVE this fabric.

Closet Core Patterns – Plateau Joggers

The wrap around pocket is a pretty neat feature. I don’t like the high rise but I love that I can use fabric with minimum stretch for these.

Halla – Lounge Pants

The legs are so wide compared to the size of the cuff. The waistband also feels way too tall and loose at the top.

Patterns for Pirates – Mama Bear Joggers

I still prefer the rolled hem version but the cuffed joggers aren’t too bad! I don’t like the patch pockets at all, so I’ll definitely stick to the double layer pocket moving forward.

Rad Patterns – Couch Potato Joggers

I really like how these turned out and how they fit. I feel like the inseam is a tad on the shorter end though and I don’t like the side seam pockets.

Stitch Upon A Time – Arcadia

Sewing on the waistband on these was ridiculous. I had to stretch it to the MAX! The A0 file is not projector friendly for the larger sizes.

Do you have a favorite pair out of the joggers from this past week? I’d love to know in the comments below! Stay tuned! Tomorrow I’m talking about the Apostrophe – MyFit Joggers!

Happy sewing!
